Writing here brings me great joy, so that’s what I’m doing at this exact moment in my disaster of a kitchen while I can’t smell a thing in my tiny window before baby wails recall me to the rocking chair.
Hi! I’m Rebecca, lover of Jesus, my hubby, good hot tea and great conversations! I claim a little town in western North Carolina as my home, but Texas has stolen my country-girl heart.
All in Food
Writing here brings me great joy, so that’s what I’m doing at this exact moment in my disaster of a kitchen while I can’t smell a thing in my tiny window before baby wails recall me to the rocking chair.
Our highs were in the 50s and our lows were in the 30s! Such a great weekend for extended snuggles under blankets, reading, and fires!
I was using three tricks I recently learned all within the span of 20 minutes this morning, and decided to jot them down here for you too!
We all have stretches of time that are busier than others when we need to switch to a lighter rhythm. Whatever the need, here’s what paired down food solving looks like for us.
I love the casualness of standing in the kitchen and having a good conversation while food is prepared. There’s something therapeutic about using your hands and working beside someone while fleshing out a thought;...
When people ask me if I am a baker, I tell them that I am not, because I don’t love the chemistry of baking. In fact, if the recipe requires exactness, I refuse to make it.
One day last year, I discovered that my pantry was overrun with ingredients that I would most likely never use again - things like stale panko crumbs or whole wheat flour or a strange form of dried bean. I decided right then and there to create a Capsule Pantry.

With all of this talking about food, I've figured out a few snacks that temper my emotions, protect my wallet, and keep life moving. These may not be your favorite snacks, but I am hoping that they help you think through your own food-crisis solutions!
The summers are so hot here, that I look forward to getting outside more as fall bears cooler weather. I also look forward to long Saturday morning dates with my hubby, hot apple cider, and good books! But until those Saturdays arrive, I will continue to enjoy my evening reads by/in the pool!
One of the things I always do when planning for the month ahead is jot out what I want my meal schedule to look like and I have found it to be surprisingly helpful. I am sharing this Monthly Meal Planning Printable with you in hopes that it will make life a bit easier for you too!
There's a part of me that feels like July kidnapped me and there was no coming back, and then there's another part of me that feels like a jumped headfirst into the warm ocean waters of July and let them carry me away.
Between blogs, podcasts, tv shows, conversations, and books, I take in lots of information every day. As I take it in and process through it, I am almost always contemplating what I want to share with you! Here are a few of the things I'm loving right now... and a few thoughts as well!
From around the time I was fourteen, I have started almost every morning with a giant mug of black tea with two teaspoons of sugar and a splash of two percent milk.
Let's be real, meal planning is overwhelming. There are many factors to process such as schedules, grocery shopping, knowing what to cook, and other complexities. So how do we wade through all of the decisions?
