These moments are an opportunity to ask ourselves, “What do I love? What do I want? What do I think life should look like right now? How can I chase the things that bring myself and others joy?”
Hi! I’m Rebecca, lover of Jesus, my hubby, good hot tea and great conversations! I claim a little town in western North Carolina as my home, but Texas has stolen my country-girl heart.
All in Organization
These moments are an opportunity to ask ourselves, “What do I love? What do I want? What do I think life should look like right now? How can I chase the things that bring myself and others joy?”
Christmas is a long season. Taking this level of care helps to set me up for success and reduced stress.
I cut this year’s reading goal in half…
Whenever I create and spend money on a new system, there’s always the slight fear that I will abhor it in a year. That didn’t prove true with this one; I still love it!
I’ve been saving my tea tins for the last few years because I’ve seen so many great uses for them on Pinterest.
I love the casualness of standing in the kitchen and having a good conversation while food is prepared. There’s something therapeutic about using your hands and working beside someone while fleshing out a thought;...
One day last year, I discovered that my pantry was overrun with ingredients that I would most likely never use again - things like stale panko crumbs or whole wheat flour or a strange form of dried bean. I decided right then and there to create a Capsule Pantry.
Have you ever felt like your short term goals have been significantly altered by a situation or an event that shouldn’t be that big of a deal?
Do you ever have sluggish days, weeks, or seasons, when you can't seem to get anything of significant worth done? The tasks exist, but the motivation to accomplish them doesn't.
What was the result? I wasted a lot of time and productivity because this new system simply didn't work for me.
Winter isn't super harsh here in sunny Texas (although I have broken out my ski socks and my gloves many times this year!), but the leaves are still off the trees, some days the sky is still dreary, and it simply isn't the same as the airy days of spring, the lavish days of summer, or the brisk fall skies.
None of these changes will happen naturally. Every single one of them takes intentionality, thought, and planning. All of these will require establishing or shifting rhythms and routines in every area of my life.
With all of this talking about food, I've figured out a few snacks that temper my emotions, protect my wallet, and keep life moving. These may not be your favorite snacks, but I am hoping that they help you think through your own food-crisis solutions!
One of the things I always do when planning for the month ahead is jot out what I want my meal schedule to look like and I have found it to be surprisingly helpful. I am sharing this Monthly Meal Planning Printable with you in hopes that it will make life a bit easier for you too!
Between blogs, podcasts, tv shows, conversations, and books, I take in lots of information every day. As I take it in and process through it, I am almost always contemplating what I want to share with you! Here are a few of the things I'm loving right now... and a few thoughts as well!
I talk a lot about loving the small things, fresh flowers, a cup of tea, a good book, a mental snapshot of a lovely evening with my husband that I want to treasure forever. In the same way that small moments fuel living, big dreams, and wide smiles, small changes can have a significant impact on every day living. I call these small changes and fine tunings "tweaks."
The ability to create my own system with someone else's bare bones structure is the perfect fit for my organizing needs.
One thing I am learning about planners is that often different seasons of life call for a different style of agenda. As I have different needs for organization and dates, I go on a hunt for the planner that best fits my current situation.
Whenever I think about organizing, I ponder the impending project for days and sometimes weeks, trying to figure out exactly from what angle I want to attack. Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that I must first look at the item or items that need organizing and ask myself, "How often do I use these items?"
I recently surveyed my office and living room and realized that I had magazines everywhere. It was definitely time to do something.
