The summers are so hot here, that I look forward to getting outside more as fall bears cooler weather. I also look forward to long Saturday morning dates with my hubby, hot apple cider, and good books! But until those Saturdays arrive, I will continue to enjoy my evening reads by/in the pool!

We had two friends (unintentionally) schedule their weddings on back to back weekends in North Carolina. We certainly didn't complain about that! Our trip included two weddings, the mountains and the beach, three states, three hotel rooms, a Home Away condo, my in law's, immediate and extended family from both sides of the family and some time to ourselves. Needless to say, I packed lots.

I talk a lot about loving the small things, fresh flowers, a cup of tea, a good book, a mental snapshot of a lovely evening with my husband that I want to treasure forever. In the same way that small moments fuel living, big dreams, and wide smiles, small changes can have a significant impact on every day living. I call these small changes and fine tunings "tweaks."

Have you ever experienced a perfect synchronization of randomness? We tend to refer to these moments with comment like "It's such a small world!" or "Well isn't that a coincidence!". My favorite coincidental moments are with books.

May was a busier month than I expected. Somehow, I think I must have perfected the "read while you wait" move because in the midst of all of the busyness, I read eleven books and abandoned one.

I don't usually take significant chunks of down time, usually I plow right through until I crash. Lately, however, there has been a recurring instruction in my time in the Word, in sermons, and in books: REST. SABBATH. Allow yourself to be restored.
